Ines Roberts was born in Danzig and educated in Germany and England and has been passionately involved in photography since moving from Scotland to California in 1966. Her photographs have been published as feature articles in magazines in the U.S, England, Mexico, Germany and Canada including Popular Photography, The Minolta Mirror, The PSA Journal, and Natur Photo of Germany.
She received her Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain in 1992 and in 1996, she was invited to become a member of the London Salon of Photography. In 2007 she was awarded the Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
I started in painting," Roberts says, "but it seemed to me that photography was all about seeing -- it was about constantly discovering. Wherever I go, I am an explorer.
Ines shared her slide-music program on her visit to Iceland at our last annual banquet and her wonderful images of that incredible landscape certainly make her the ideal judge for our topic in July 2011, “Earth Without the Hand of Man!”
