April 27th Workshop - On Lighting - by Dean Zatkowsky

Dean Zatkowsky, the President of the Ojai Camera Club, will be presenting a lecture on Lighting. The workshop will be presented in three sections:

  1. Understanding fundamental concepts of photographic light, including direction, quality, size, distance, contrast ratio, and a glossary of useful terms.
  2. Learning to see and analyze light by reverse engineering photos
  3. Taking control of the light through shooting angles, reflectors, or electronic flash.

"I try to make all of this accessible for both advanced amateurs and rank beginners, because even those of us who just want better pictures of our cats won't get them until we know how to see and use the light."

You can learn more about Dean on his blog, image gallery, or his portrait site.

This workshop is part of our regular offering of workshops held on the 4th Wednesday of every month.

Date: April 27, 2011 (our usual 4th Wednesday of the month)

Place:  Poinsettia Pavilion  (our usual Place)

Time:  7:00 PM  (our usual time)
